What it means to be a Christian

A Christian or ("Christ -one") is someone who belongs to Christ. It all begins through a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "Except a man be born-again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). Jesus is explaining the importance of a spiritual rebirth, saying we don't enter the Kingdom by living a better life, but by being spiritually reborn.

The Bible tells us that we are sinners. Because of our sins we must die. But God has a gift for us and that gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ. Just think: God loved us so much, "in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." We must admit that we are sinners, and confess that Christ died and rose again in order to be saved.

If you died today, do you know for sure that you're going to Heaven? Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6.

A person can know for sure they are a Christian because of the change that takes place in their life once they are in Christ. II Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
